SILO CLEAN OUT EQUIPMENT

When material builds up inside silos, active storage capacity is reduced. This situation increases operating costs especially if production is interrupted or if additional inventory is needed to meet production demands.
When faced with this problem, operation managers usually call in a silo cleaning contractor. This may be a practical answer for the occasional silo cleaning. However, when multiple silos are cleaned each year, owning a Gyro Whip™ Bin Cleaning System and using plant personnel offer a more attractive and economical solution.

Gyro-Whip™ Silo Cleaning System
CHARACTERISTICS: Air powered, portable, operators control the cleaning
head from atop the silo, no personnel enter the silo, different whips
depending on material, no damage to silo, 2 man crew, 85 p.s.i.(6kp/cm2),
100 c.f.m. (2.83 m3/mn) preferred silo equipment access opening
18 in.(46 cm) square or 19 in.(49 cm) round.
DESCRIPTION: Remote operated Gyro-Whip™ cleans build up inside the silo; restores silo capacity; safe to hopper walls.
Power Lance™ Silo Auger System
CHARACTERISTICS: Air powered, portable, remotely controlled, 120 foot
drill height, different drill heads depending on materials.
DESCRIPTION: When a material bridge exist, a 2 person crew uses the
Power Lance™ to drill a hole through the bridge so material dislodged
by the Gyro Whip™ can reach the normal silo discharge opening. If a
"rathole" already exists in the silo through which dislodged material can
reach the discharge opening, the Power Lance™ is not required.
Permanent Solution to Material Build Up
If material builds up in days or weeks, rather than months or years, Chicago Vibrator Products offers a permanent solution with a designed system of flow aid devices such as vibrators, bin aerators, or air cannons. This method has a higher initial cost for equipment and installation, but it is cost effective when loss of flow or storage capacity frequently stop production.
